You’ll spot a few changes in our layout--there are new dropcaps, and feature stories have narrower outer margins, more columns, and new subheads. Nothing fancy so far, but there's more to come. The eagle-eyed also will notice, when comparing this month's ad with last month's, a slightly later shipping date for autographed copies of my new book, What Catholics Really Believe--Setting the Record Straight. The reason is simple. I will be out of town in late October when the book arrives from the printer, so anyone ordering autographed copies will have to be patient until I return on All Souls' Day.
That was the bad news. Now the good news. The Christian Research Institute, one of the more effective Evangelical organizations, is fretting about This Rock's first installment of Fr. Mateo's article, "CRI's Attack on Mary." CRI staffer Elliott Miller, whose writing is being critiqued by Fr. Mateo, devoted much of CRI's nationally-broadcast radio program, "The Bible Answer Man," to grousing about Catholic Answers. He attempted to refute the arguments defending Marian doctrines. He was unsuccessful, as were his colleagues who joined him on the air. In this issue you'll find the second installment in Fr. Mateo's series. For CRI's delight and edification we promise several more installments. We thus expect CRI to be mentioning us with some regularly over the next few months. Stay tuned.
